Pau Gasol, international basketball pivot and recent signing of the Los Angeles Lakers, was a supporter of “bet on a more egalitarian and inclusive society” on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities which is commemorated this Thursday around the world.
Gasol recalled in a video from the Spanish Paralympic Committee that his record, composed among other titles by two NBA rings, six participations in the All Star, 1 World Cup, 3 European and two silver medals and a bronze in the Olympic Games, It is the same as that of the wheelchair basketball player Sara Revuelta, who owns 2 European Cups, 4 Spanish Leagues, 6 King’s Cups and in 2021 will be at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo.
“Let’s bet on a more egalitarian and inclusive society”, declares Gasol, in the same video in which Sara Revuelta tells that she has a spinal cord injury caused by leukemia when she was little.

In this December 3, International Day of Persons with Disabilities, other personalities from the world of sport also wanted to show their support for this group like former Spanish coach Vicente Del Bosque and former international soccer player Emilio Butragueño.
They both read part of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in a video released by the Federation of #Associations of People with Physical and Organic Disabilities of the Community of Madrid (FAMMA).
