Denver advanced to the semifinals of the Western Conference of the playoffs by knocking down Rudy Gobert’s Utah after falling 3-1 in the series.
At the final buzzer, Donovan Mitchell fell to the ground. The Utah full-back (22 points), face down, struggled to take the blow of a two-point loss to Denver (80-78) on Wednesday in Game 7 of the crazy NBA series between Jazz and Nuggets. Led 3-1 and close to elimination, yet it was the Nuggets who had the last word to invite themselves to the semifinals of the Western Conference of the NBA playoffs.

Jamal Murray (17 points), one of the executioners of Jazz with Nikola Jokic (30pts), came to relieve Mitchell and the two players gave each other a frank hug. Of the one who exudes respect between two warriors. Rudy Gobert’s double-double (19 points, 18 rebounds) was not enough for the franchise to turn the tide of a meeting long dominated by the Nuggets.
Mitchell, who scored 14 points in a row for his team between the second and third quarters, maintained hope so much that the two teams, inseparable, ended up neck and neck within a minute of the end of the match (78-78). Nikola Jokic then gave Denver a decisive advantage before one last incredible action.
After losing the ball on what was to be the Jazz’s final possession, Gobert saved his team from a decisive defensive rebound before offering Mike Conley one last ammo. But the 3-point shot with the buzzer of the leader came out of the hoop after having followed its contours. End of the game and victory for Denver who will have the difficult task of challenging the Los Angeles Clippers for a place in the final in the West.
