Roland-Garros: Nadal will wear a watch at 900,000 euros

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of its partnership with Swiss watchmaker Richard Mille, Rafael Nadal will wear the RM 27-04 model at Roland Garros, estimated at nearly 900,000 euros.

Considering the price of his watch, Rafael Nadal will not have the right to be late on the courts. Even more if the Mallorcan wants to win Roland Garros for the thirteenth time. For the tenth year in a row, the world number 2 will in any case continue to wear the Richard Mille brand on the wrist, with a rare model costing more than a million dollars.

A 30 gram model limited to 50 copies

On this occasion, the Swiss brand unveiled the new model supplied to the Spaniard, which “crowns ten years of partnership between Rafael Nadal and Richard Mille”. The RM 27-04, limited to 50 pieces, is made of 90% titanium and uses the “cable suspension mechanism (…) inspired by the very principle of stringing a racket.”

The player’s name is engraved on the back and his nickname on the side of a very light jewel – only 30 grams – but resistant, because designed “to absorb shocks up to 12000 g”. Its price, not revealed by Richard Mille, would exceed one million dollars, the equivalent of more than 900,000 euros.

“Only a few people in the world are capable of achieving such a level of technical prowess”

“After 10 years of partnership, and after spending time with Richard’s teams, I am still fascinated by the talent, the passion and the relentless quest for excellence that characterize the brand, explains Nadal in the communicated. Only a few people in the world are capable of achieving such a level of technical prowess. “
