Excluded from the US Open after hitting a linesman with a ball, Novak Djokovic asked his fans to support the official, targeted by a wave of attacks on social networks.
Novak Djokovic on Tuesday urged his fans to “support and care” for the linesman struck by the thrown ball that resulted in the Serbian being eliminated on Sunday from the US Open, after it was the target of attacks on social networks.
“She didn’t do anything wrong”
In a tweet, world No. 1 Djokovic thanked his fans for their positive messages, while stressing that the judge, hit in the throat after the Serbian’s moody gesture, had “done nothing wrong”, unlike to critics accusing the official of having exaggerated the nature of his injury by collapsing to the ground.
