The Lesotho government reported this morning that it detected its first case of coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic.
The patient who tested positive studies in Saudi Arabia and arrived in the country a few days ago. It is the only case among 81 people who have come from other countries recently and who have been examined by doctors.
As of this, from now on, all countries on the African continent have records of at least one positive case of coronavirus.
With its entire territory surrounded by South Africa – the African country most affected by the pandemic – Lesotho blocked its borders at the end of March to prevent the spread of the virus.
A week ago, however, the local government loosened the restrictions and allowed “all non-essential services and businesses” to temporarily open.
